Uterine lipoleiomyoma: a benign entity with malignant transformation potential?

نویسندگان

چکیده

Background: Uterine lipoleiomyoma is a rare lipomatous variant of uterine leiomyoma composed variable mixture mature smooth muscle cells and adipocytes, typically found in peri or postmenopausal women. Malignancies arising from the tumor have rarely been reported though it considered benign. Cases: We present three cases review literature to explore its etiology, characteristics, diagnosis malignant transformation potential. Conclusion: Imaging examinations especially magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) play an important role preoperative diagnosis. For large size rapid growth lipoleiomyoma, potential should be surgery required. Follow-up still necessary.

Thymoma: benign appearance, malignant potential.

Thymoma is a rare tumor with a largely indolent growth pattern. It does, however, have malignant potential as a result of its ability to invade locally and metastasize regionally. Surgery is...
